The 1995 State Modelling was a lively affair with all the members who attended, turning out in their Sunday Best to see those who made the finals to strut thier chosen attire on the catwalk in three catagories. These being Casual Wear, Work Wear and Formal Wear.
Dandenong Young Farmers were lucky enough to have both the male and the female representative for Westernport/Dandenong DC and with thier chosen attire, props and scenarios for each catagory where awarded first female and male taking home the R.M Williams Vouchers.
Casual Wear
A day of horse riding and picknicking is ahaead of this young couple. Protected from Melbourne's unpredictable weather in their hats and drizabone coats.
Julie looks relaxed, ready for a day of physical activity. Her denim jeans with a palited belt, white t-shirt, casual denim shirt and RM Williams boots are just the right choice for that ride.
Casual Wear
Lyndon looks the part in his blue jeans with brown leather belt, white t-shirt, checked flannel shirt, with his feet well protected by his smart yet practical work boots.
The American saddle and stock whip add the finishing touches to ensure their day is a success.
Day Wear
Set to attend the Young Farmer's Wedding of the Year (Daz and Kaz) Julie and Lyndon make a stunning couple.
Julie presents the picture of the ideal wedding guest. Her cream wool crepe dress with black taffeta bow from "Wool Do it Australia" is set off by her black accessories, jacket, shoes and bag. Her gold jewellery adds that finishing touch.
Lyndon's green slacks, white shirt and smart sports jacket are set off by his modern tie which he keeps in place with a discreet gold tie clip. Brown leather belt, gold business watch and Japanese cuff links complete his outfit.

Day Wear
As Lyndon takes those memorable happy snaps for Daz and Kaz, Julie looks after the present and ensures that both the bride and groom are covered in confetti.
Formal Wear
For a couple who enjoy outdoor pursuits and a night out on the town, what better way to celebrate than the Melbourne Cup Ball.
Juylie's slim long line black crepe dress has an interesting lattice work braid pattern extending from the neck line. The low line back shows Julie's slim figure to her advantage, her black suede shoes, gloves and diamante earrings add the touch of glamour for the evening.
Wow! It's Fred Astair, no it's Lyndon, resplendent in black tails, white shirt, green waistecoat and bow tie. His silver dress watch, cuff links and top hat add to the debonair look.
How Cute!
Can he dance as well as Fred, as the Champagne pops the young couple whirl away the night!
1996
This year, with a little help from Julie Edgar, along with Rob Comer and Amanda Gervasoni the 1996 State modelling ran smoothly.
The main concern was the number of people making bookings. Estimation was sixty people and one week before the event, there were 100 people booked and pre-paid.
Winners and Runners up
The models put a great deal of effort into their performance, leaving the judges with a hard decision. The winners on the night were Michael Axford and Denise Marriott from Westernport/Dandenong DC.
1997
The first week of August saw the Dandenong Club members don their best attire and venture west to the 1997 State Modelling Competition. Although the club did not have an entrant in this event we were willing to provide support to the Westernport/Dandenong DC entrants through cheering and providing stand in props.
With all the modelling over it was time for us to let our hair down as we danced into the small hours of the night.
1998
The 1998 State Modelling Competition was held on the 1st of August int he Function Room of the Western Oval, home of the Western Bulldogs.
Susan Brown of the Dandenong Young Farmers and Glenn Barrett of Korumburra Young Farmers represented the Westernport/Dandenong DC.
For a casual day at home, nestled in the green bean bag of their chioce watching the TV, Glen and Susan wore matching white terry toweling dressing gowns, beanies, pyjamas, moccasins and teddy bear slippers.
The day wear section was a holy affair. Glen was decked out as a Priest and Susan wore a Nun's habit to compliment him.
Next was the evening wear section. Glen modelled a single breasted suit, with burgundy tie to compliment Susan's full length burgundy dress (minus one bra). No wonder they got a warm reception!
With the meal complete we came to the moment we had all been waiting for. The judges desicion. Third place was Scott Mitchell and Louise Taylor from Central DC. Second place went to Warrick Draper and Stacey Johnson of South Gippsland DC, both of whom were new members to the association at this poinbt of time.
In firstplace were Susan Brown and Glenn Barrett.
A great night was had by all!
1999
On Saturday the 31st of July, 1999, myself, Charlotte the pig and a wonderful support crowd from the Dandenong Young Farmers headed across to the E.J. Whitten Oval in Footscray to check out the latest fashion of workwear, casual wear and formal wear.
The first set of clothes to be modelled consisted of workwear. These ranged from a delivery girl from "Pizza Hut" to "Ma & Pa Kettle". As for Charlotte and myself, i wore plenty of handme downs from Nans 1970 wardrobe collection - but hey do overalls and flannel really date?
Casual wear saw a variety of activities from going to the football (complete with our own portable fence!) to playing a game of squash, managing to fall off the stage whilst on rollerblades and dressed for a night out on the towns local pub.
Formal wear or should I say "after five" provided some very interesting fashions of cross-dressing in a fabulous hot pink mini sequence dress to being ready to hit the local B&S Ball - not knowing whether you are a batchelor or a spinster! Of course the ever expensive but classic, evening gown did make an appearance. The night was completed with the guest appearance of the famous Austin Powers and Felicity Shagwell.
All who attended enjoyed themselves and at the end of the night the judges awarded the Westernport/Dandenong DC best female (Fiona Lindsay - Dandenong Club) and best male (Vic Stephens - Warragul Club).
I would like to thank Fiona Glover for throwing me into this event as I had a great time representing (oh and dressing up) the Dandenong Young Farmers.
